John Agionicolaitis + Solange Barbara

Together, we save lives


Actively Implicated in the community, John fosters the vision of “learning today, leading tomorrow”. He is passionate about helping both people and animals. John completed a Master’s degree in Business Administration at McGill University in 2017. Prior to his master’s, he completed a certificate specialized in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder at McGill.

Working at the Centre Vétérinaire Laval as well as at the Government of Canada in management; he and his mother Solange Barbara founded the Asista Foundation in 2011 aimed to better integrate people in society presenting a mental health disorder.

As a co-founder of the Asista Foundation, John is excited to have the opportunity to share his views, passion and knowledge in the field of service dogs.
Moreover, he hopes to inspire people in educating them with the newly started program with the Centre Vétérinaire Laval “Together, we save lives”; a mindset of the veterinarian community helping and accommodating the special needs of the community. From an animal caregiver to a veterinarian, we can all help.


Passionate about helping both people and animals, Solange completed a Master’s degree in Business Administration at McGill University in 2009. Further to her master’s in 2009, she then completed a certificate specialized in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder at McGill.

Being an executive in management of a multinational company; she and her son John Agionicolaitis founded the Asista Foundation in 2011 aimed to better integrate people in society presenting a mental health disorder.

As a co-founder of the Asista Foundation, Solange is delighted to have the opportunity to share her passion and knowledge in the field.

Moreover, she hopes to inspire people to foster a mindset of the needs in the community and how veterinarians play a role within the special needs community.
